What improvements are you making over the original mod? I loved Vampire Slayer and I was really excited when I saw on Greenlight that you were making a standalone game.

It's really a re-make but without using valves engine, which was a fantastic engine so it's been pretty hard to re-create all that online stuff from scratch etc.
I can't see the greenlight happening, the graphics seems to be a problem for people. It does look a bit dated I suppose but I kinda thought they might realise it's a one-man indie game and so it's never going to look like MW3 etc, but then it would only cost $5 instead of $50. Oh well.
I still believe the gameplay mechanics are great and are more interesting to me than a lot of FPS's. I also think the xbox one plays really well (and I mean that trying not to be biased etc - I've had some great games with it), especially the outside map, but even that seems to be slipping down the charts. And it's only $1!
Might be nice to do a PC ver outside Steam and see how that goes but I can't, I can only afford to do it if it was going on Steam because there'd be quite a lot of network stuff to do for PC and no matchmaking without Steam.

Outside steam youd have to buy the rights to an engine. And yes vs's graphics are cheesy but thats not why we play games like vs or tfc. Its for the gameplay. With all the advances in graphics though the new generation of kids prefer style over substance and the biggest bloodiest monster to blow up with the biggest gun. They never experiencedt the mario generation where we ignored 8 bit graphics for better gameplay.

If vs ever gets remade its going to have to have talented mappers and modelers to give it a good gothic theme the way zombie panic was given a major facelift.

That's pretty unfortunate that it hasn't had a better reception, Vampire Slayer did have a fun game play mechanic that hasn't been matched even to this day. I don't have a ton of experience in developing games, but I hear the Unity engine being praised a lot by small indie developers. So maybe that will be of some use to you, in any case, I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. Smile
